Silverton Specialties was founded in 1982 to produce a custom belt buckle reproduction of Otto Mears' 1889 solid silver pass for the Silverton Railroad. Our next buckle was based on the Rio Grande Southern 1892 silver filigree pass. We have produced over 20 buckles on historic Colorado narrow guage railroading and present tourist railroads. Our buckles are highly prized by buckle collectors, historic railfans, modelers, and by tourist train passengers as souvenirs.
Our on-line catalog shows buckle reproductions of the Otto Mears silver passes and scenes from famous Denver & Rio Grande branches, the fabled Rio Grande Southern, and the Colorado & Southern.
